Dr. Mariam Haroun – Orthodontist
Dr. Mariam N. Haroun was raised in Miami, Florida before moving to Toronto. She received a Bachelor of Science degree with honours and a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr Haroun graduated first in her dental school class and went on to receive two additional years of specialty training in the field of Orthodontics at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana. At LSU, she worked extensively with complicated malocclusions including cleft lip/palate patients and those who require orthognathic surgery in conjuction with orthodontics. She completed her American Boards then returned to practice in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area.
Dr. Haroun is extremely happy to have married the love of her life, George, who was her dental school classmate in Florida. He somehow convinced her to leave the warm, sunny beaches of Florida to relocate to Toronto, her husband's hometown, where he is a practicing dentist, and has developed a real love for Canada! Having worked as an orthodontist in America, she was still required to complete a two-day examination, and was successfully admitted as a Fellow in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, certifying her as an orthodontic specialist for children and adults.
